History of TransFamily:
TransFamily Of Cleveland was formed by Karen and Bob Gross in 1995 as a result of their efforts to find a support system to help them deal with their own child's transition. Together, they traveled throughout the country speaking to groups and PFLAG chapters, educating all who’d listen about transgender issues. Bob and Karen also contributed chapters to Mary Boenke's book, Trans Forming Families: Real Stories About Transgendered Loved Ones.
Karen and Bob facilitated TransFamily for 20 years.
In 2004 Stacey Parsons started attending TransFamily and throughout the years became more involved within the community and TransFamily. It was years later that Karen and Bob chose her to take over TransFamily. She began by facilitating meetings alongside Karen for some time and has been leading TransFamily since 2015.
